MOISSEY KOGAN CATALOGUE RAISONNÉ OF SCULPTURE & PRINTS PROJECT AND PROJECT ARCHIVE

WHO WE ARE

This is the Privacy Policy of the Moissey Kogan Catalogue Raisonné of Sculpture & Prints Project and Project Archive. Our website address is: https://moisseykogancr.org. An additional domain name, owned by us: www.moisseykogancr.org, also points to this website address, meaning that you can access our website and blog via this address, too.

The Moissey Kogan Catalogue Raisonné of Sculpture & Prints Project and Project Archive are committed to safeguarding and preserving the privacy of visitors to our website and/or blog and of people who subscribe to receive our blogposts via e-mail.

PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT AND WHY WE COLLECT IT

In running and maintaining our website and blog, we may collect and process the following data about you:

  • information about your use of our site, including details of your visits, such as pages viewed and the resources that you access. Such information includes traffic data, location data and other communication data;
  • information provided voluntarily by you. For example, when you subscribe to receive our blogposts via e-mail;
  • information that you provide to us voluntarily, when you communicate with us by any other means.

COOKIES

CONTACT FORMS

There are currently two ways in which you can contact the Moissey Kogan Catalogue Raisonné of Sculpture & Prints Project and Project Archive.

You can send us a message via our contact form, which we receive as an e-mail. The contact form, which is installed on our Contact the Project page, is operated by WPForms Lite. This WordPress plugin does not use cookies.

The second way you can contact us is if you choose to subscribe to receiving our new blogposts via e-mail. If you enter your e-mail address into the ‘Subscribe to blog via e-mail’ box at the foot of any page on this website and/or blog, you will receive an automated confirmation e-mail from our website via WordPress.com. You then have the option to confirm your choice to subscribe to receive blogposts via e-mail from the Moissey Kogan Catalogue Raisonné of Sculpture & Prints blog, or to ignore the e-mail, if you change your mind prior to subscribing. If you choose to confirm, you will receive each new blogpost from our blog via e-mail. Each e-mail you receive will have a link at the bottom that allows you to unsubscribe to this service at any time. You do not need to contact us, if you choose to unsubscribe. We receive the notification that you have chosen to subscribe via e-mail (for further details, see the section below on SPAM CHECKING).

You can also choose to ‘Manage your settings’ via a second link at the bottom of any blogpost you receive via e-mail.

Functionality cookies for blog subscriptions are retained by JetPack for WordPress for a duration of 347 days to remember your blog and post subscription choices, if you have an active subscription. These cookies cease to function if you unsubscribe.

We use this information solely for customer service purposes. We will never use it for marketing purposes.

SPAM CHECKING

We use a service called Askimet (part of the Jetpack package) to check for spam e-mails. When a visitor chooses to contact the project via the Contact Form on our Contact the Project page, the contact form submission data — IP address, user agent, name, email address, website, and message — is submitted to the Akismet service for the sole purpose of spam checking. The actual submission data is stored in the database of our website and is emailed directly to us as site authors and owners of the form. This email will include the submitter’s IP address, timestamp, name, email address, website, and message. Askimet is owned by Automattic. You can read about their cookie policy here. Here is their privacy policy for you as a visitor to our website, as one of their users.

COMMENTS AND LIKES

This functionality is currently disabled on the Moissey Kogan Catalogue Raisonné of Sculpture & Prints website and blog. We may choose to activate this functionality at a future date. We will update our Privacy Policy should we change our settings, in order to inform you of what happens with your data, if you comment on, or like, one of our pages or posts.

EMBEDDED CONTENT FROM OTHER WEBSITES

Articles on this website and/or blog may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.) from third-party websites. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

ANALYTICS

WORDPRESS.COM STATS

Data Used: IP address, WordPress.com user ID (if logged in), WordPress.com username (if logged in), user agent, visiting URL, referring URL, timestamp of event, browser language, country code. Important: the Moissey Kogan Catalogue Raisonné of Sculpture & Prints Project and Project Archive, as site owners, do not have access to any of this information via this feature. For example, a WordPress site owner can see that a specific post has 285 views, but he/she cannot see which specific users/accounts viewed that post. Stats logs — containing visitor IP addresses and WordPress.com usernames (if available) — are retained by Automattic (who own Jetpack for WordPress) for 28 days and are used for the sole purpose of powering this feature.

Activity Tracked: Post and page views, video plays (if videos are hosted by WordPress.com), outbound link clicks, referring URLs and search engine terms, and country. When this module is enabled, Jetpack also tracks performance on each page load that includes the Javascript file used for tracking stats. This is exclusively for aggregate performance tracking across Jetpack sites in order to make sure that its plugin and code is not causing performance issues. This includes the tracking of page load times and resource loading duration (image files, Javascript files, CSS files, etc.). We, as site owners, have the ability to force this feature to honour Do Not Track settings of visitors. By default, DNT is not honored.

GOOGLE ANALYTICS

We also use Google Analytics to monitor traffic to this website and blog. You can read about how Google Analytics collects data here.

Google Analytics collects data via session cookies (a cookie that is erased when the visitor closes his/her browser): its tracking code logs details about a visitor’s browser and computer, the exact time of any visit to this website and its duration, and to throttle the speed of requests to the server.

Google Analytics also collects data on where a visitor comes from, which search engine was used, which links were clicked and which search terms were used. It retains this information for 6 months.

Google Analytics also collects data on the number of times a visitor accesses the website, as well as dates for the first and most recent visits. It retains this information for 2 years.

You can also choose to opt-out of Google Analytics tracking by using this Google opt-out browser add-on. Information about Google’s ‘Safeguarding your Data’ policy can be found here.

THIRD PARTY LINKS

On occasion we may include links to the websites or blogs owned by third parties on this website. Where we provide a link, it does not mean that we endorse or approve that site’s policy towards visitor privacy. You should review their privacy policy before visiting their site or sending them any personal data.

HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR DATA

Please see each section above for details relevant to specific data sets.

THE RIGHTS YOU HAVE OVER YOUR DATA

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments on it (where this functionality is activated), you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. Please contact us by e-mail at info(at)moisseykogancr.org or via our Contact Page. We undertake to enact your request within one calendar month.

YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION

We store your e-mail address via the e-mail service provider operated by our hosting company (Siteground.com) when you choose to contact us via our Contact the Project page or when we receive notification of your request to subscribe to blogposts via e-mail. We do so in order to inform you about any essential matter regarding the operation of this website (such as a fundamental change to our Terms and Conditions or Privacy Policy), or to contact you to provide you with any information you may have requested. If you choose to unsubscribe from receiving our blogposts via e-mail, your contact details will be deleted from our system. We also undertake to delete them from our e-mail address contacts list.

Should you have any concerns in respect of this Privacy Policy, please contact Helen Shiner, Moissey Kogan Catalogue Raisonné of Sculpture & Prints Project and Project Archive via e-mail at info (at) moisseykogancr.org.

SHARING YOUR DATA

In operating our website it may become necessary to transfer data that we collect from you to locations outside of the European Union for processing and storing. WordPress.com by default does not share data with anyone. Google Analytics sends data to the USA, which is considered an ‘adequate country’. This means we are GDPR compliant in this respect. By providing your personal data to us, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing. We do our utmost to ensure that all reasonable steps are taken to make sure that your data is stored securely.

DISCLOSING YOUR DATA

We will not disclose your personal information to any other party other than in accordance with this Privacy Policy and in the circumstances detailed below:

  • where we are legally required by law to disclose your personal information
  • to further fraud protection and reduce the risk of fraud.

HOW WE PROTECT YOUR DATA

We use a two-step authentication process for this website and blog.
